@mikemonnette Oh my god how did that clip of me flexing get in there that's so embarrassing #mensstyle #style #menswear #mensfashion ♬ Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
You guys ever had a few drinks at brunch and then gotten talked into a purchase by your well-meaning wife and a couple of sales associates? Because I did. The mercerized vest in violet from Corridor, one of my favorite menswear brands. The Brooklyn based brand can be thought of as a wavier version of 2025 men’s fashion stalwart Buck Mason, with a penchant for awesome and unique knitwear.
Outfitting the vest is proving to be a challenge though, so in the video above I walk you through my attempts to make the vest work with my personal style. The white from a t-shirt worn underneath is showing through from under this sweater vest way more than on the model on Corridor’s website, so we’re going full send, no shirt underneath.
Shorts combos don’t feel quite right but could be something to come back to with the right shoes.
Neither tapered linen pants, nor fatigues seem to be a good match proportionally.
Baggy jeans and cowboy boots could work if I had some patchwork tattoos and lived in silver lake but it just doesn’t feel like me.
Big pants seem to be the answer, especially with accessories that really double down on the “hey look at me I’m a fashion guy” vibe, speaking of which I need to size up in the belt to give it the droopy that all the fashion influencers seem to have.
Black fisherman sandals could do some heavy lifting in terms of outfitting but I don’t have a pair – but they are on my list.
We have a vacation coming up and that might have to be the reason to try one of these outfits because they’re cool, but just not how I normally dress – let me know what you guys think.
