How to measure yourself for clothes from Abbreviated

Clothes from Abbreviated fit similar in the chest, shoulders, hips, and waist to other American brands, but with shorter (properly scaled) sleeves and legs. If a size Large shirt usually fits you in the chest and shoulders, you can expect a large from Abbreviated to fit you in the chest and shoulders, but with shorter body and sleeves. If you usually wear a size 34 waist, you can order a size 34 from Abbreviated, but with an appropriate shorter inseam.

Tops

• Chest (1): measure around chest under armpits.
• Neck (2): place the measuring tape around the neck where a shirt collar normally lies, just below your Adam's apple.
• Arm Length (3): you need a friend for this one - have someone measure from the center of the back of the neck down the shoulder along the outside of the arm to your wrist.
• Body Length (A): this is a measurement of our shirt from top to bottom when laid on a flat surface.

• Waist (4): measure around waist at your narrowest point - this should be near your belly button.
• Inseam (B): this is a measurement of the pants. Take a pair of pants or jeans that fit you and lay them down flat. Measure from the seam at the crotch down the inside of leg to the hem.
• If you don't have a pair of pants that fit you, fold the cuff under until it's a length that you like, and use a binder clip or a safety pin to hold it at that length. Then take the pants off and measure the inseam for that length.
• We'd recommend the following as a rough guide if you're still unsure. Be sure to consider if you have longer or shorter legs, and if you prefer a little extra length in the leg or not.
• 5'8" - 5'9": 28 inch inseam
• 5'6" - 5'7": 27 inch inseam
• 5'4" - 5'5": 26 inch inseam
• 5'2" - 5'3": 25 inch inseam
