The Downsides of Cropping Your Shirts as a Guy

While cropping shirts is considered very "in" by the fashion crowd at the moment, this comes with risks. Once you crop a shirt there's no adding the length back.

Fashion trends tend to work like a swinging pendulum, and a good rule of thumb is that the bigger the pendulum swings in one direction, the more it will swing back the other. What this means is that when this trend of shirt cropping ends, it's more or less inevitable that some form of full length tops will be back in style.

Now if you own a shirt you can do whatever you like with it. It's yours and I'm not going to be the one to yuck someone else's yum. All I'm pointing out here is that if you think you want a shirt for the long run, maybe save that from your scissors and crop something you're less attached to. I actually like the look a cropped top gives,  especially as a shorter guy, but I just know that this trend won't last forever, so consider yourself warned.

@mikemonnette They're your shirts so do what you want, but there's no coming back once you've cropped them. #mensfashion #mensstyle #croptops #croppedshirts ♬ original sound - Mike
