What We Got at the Rose Bowl Flea Market (And One Item We Could Flip for 4X)

The Rose Bowl Flea Market is a treasure trove for vintage lovers, and this past weekend, we scored some amazing finds. From classic American denim to quirky home décor, here’s a rundown of everything we picked up, how much we paid, and one item we could quadruple our money on (but probably won’t).

@mikemonnette Alternate title: a thinly veiled attempt to flaunt our new Mark Maggiori print This was our first time going to the Rose Bowl Flea market and it was very cool, if not a bit overwhelming. We got there right when normal general admission opened at 9am and were there for about 3 hours but still only saw maybe 15% of the stalls. There were so many vendors selling so many interesting and unique things. If you're into antiques, vintage clothes, or even just good people watching this is a must-attend event in LA. It happens on the second sunday of every month and while I don't think we'll be going back monthly, we'll definitely check it out again soon. Highly recommend trying it out if you've never been, whether you live in LA or are just visiting. #rosebowlfleamarket #fleamarket #fleamarketfinds #fleamarkethaul #vintagefashion#vintageclothes #vintageclothing #mensstyle #mensfashion @bonnegueule ♬ Somethin' Here - Original Mix - Terrence Parker

Levi’s Trucker Jacket – $75
I’m a sucker for a good Levi’s trucker jacket, and this one caught my eye right away. It’s in incredible shape and fits shorter, which is perfect for us guys who don’t need that extra bulk. The big pocket flaps give off serious 70s vibes, and it’s made in the USA, which is always a cool detail. At $75, it felt like a great deal for a piece I’ll wear for years.

Vintage Silk Tie – $1
I recently ordered a double-breasted suit from Bonne Gueule for a fall wedding, and I knew I needed a wider tie to complement those bold lapels. Enter this $1 vintage silk tie. Paisley is timeless, and it’s the perfect finishing touch for a suit with a little more character.

Trucker Hat – $15
This one might have been an impulse buy. I probably should have haggled the price down, but the inside was so clean, I just went for it. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut, right?

Wooden Oars – $70 and Old Tennis Racket – $30
These aren’t exactly wardrobe additions, but they’re going to be perfect for our home décor. We’re going for that “I live inside a Ralph Lauren store” vibe—or maybe more like TGI Fridays, depending on how it all comes together. Either way, the oars and the tennis racket are giving the space some vintage charm, and that’s always a win.

Adidas Olympics Sweatshirt – $80
Now, this was the real find of the day. My wife spotted this Adidas sweatshirt with insignias from the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. We’re pretty sure it’s a reproduction from the 80s, but still, it’s a great piece. And get this—there are listings on eBay for over $300! We could flip it and make a pretty penny, but honestly, it’s too good to part with. I’m already picturing it as the perfect après-ski outfit for winter. So yeah, we’re keeping this one.

The Rose Bowl Flea Market delivered again with some solid finds that will definitely get some good use. Whether or not we end up flipping the Adidas sweatshirt, it’s always fun to hunt for unique pieces that have a story. Plus, when you can get great style at a bargain, why not?
